HAUL: Mac and Mary Kay

I know I just posted an update on my makeup shopping probation (if you missed it, check this post out to see how it went) so yes, I do see the irony of doing a makeup haul. As soon as March hit I kind of bought some makeup (sorry I'm not sorry). Anyway, I'm so excited so try out these products some more and here they are.

Like two weeks ago we had a week long break from school, and I used that time to catch up on all my schoolwork that I hadn't finished earlier this semester. I was seriously studying 12 hours a day (if you follow me on Twitter, you might already know this) and it was so difficult to motivate myself to do it (I'm so sick of high school by now, I can't wait to graduate). So, I made a promise to myself that if I finished all of the assignment by the end of the week (that's 17 assignments on 4 days I might add), I would buy a Mac 217 brush that I wanted since forever, but haven't got before since the Mac brushes are a bit more pricey than my other ones.

I also looked around for an everyday eyeshadow to just sweep over the lid and be done, and after hearing everyone on YouTube go on and on about how amazing it is, I knew I had to get Mac's All That Glitters.

I was ridiculously excited about the products when I picked them up (I don't have a Mac where I live, so I had to order them online) and they did definitely not disappoint! All That Glitters really is the perfect eyeshadow. At first, when I looked at it in the packaging I was a bit disappointed that it looked just like any other brown eyeshadow, but when I applied it to my lids it completely changed and became this perfect, golden champagne color. The 217 is the softest brush ever, I've ony had it for a few days, but it is already my favorite brush and I want to get another one ASAP.

This weekend my friend Martina and I went to her Mary Kay consultant to check out their products. I've heard a lot of great things about Mary Kay's makeup before, but I haven't tried it myself. It was so much fun and I bought this mineral highlighter which I'm very pleased with. I have planned to take the Robert Jones Beauty Academy classes over the summer, to become a makeup artist, so I better start stocking up products. Aaah, you have no idea how excited I am about it!

Here are swatches of the products, Mac's Eyeshadow in All That Glitters is on the left and Mary Kay's Mineral Highlighting Powder in Pink Stardust is on the right. Highlighter is really hard to get a good picture of (who knew? haha) but it is a silvery shimmery shade.

XOXO Victoria
